    Christopher Butler
Trustee
Chris teaches English and sociology at the University of Minnesota, Morris.  A graduate of Miami University and the University of Notre Dame, Chris has worked as a news reporter, grant writer and instructional designer.  He and Jennifer Rothchild (below) conduct research in Nepal each summer.
       
   

Katherine Cortinovis

Trustee

K.C. is a graduate of Miami University where she received her degree in speech communications and now works as a non-profit event planner. She and her husband, Gordon (below), volunteered at Sam's House for 4 months in 2008 before joining the board. During that time, they taught conversational English at the children's school and worked with other non-profit organizations in Pokhara.

       
    Jeffrey Dickson
Trustee
Jeff works as an Environmental Health Officer for the Indian Health Service in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jeff graduated from East Central University and holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jeff and his wife Elizabeth will guide Sam’s House in child care and nutrition.
       
   

Gordon Friedrich

Trustee

Gordon graduated from Miami University in 2002 and works as a financial advisor with Bank of America Investment Services. While volunteering at Sam's House with his wife, K.C., Gordon taught English and helped coach soccer at Gorkha English Boarding School, where the Sam's House children attend school.

       
    Katherine Hyde
Trustee
Katie directs the Literacy Through Photography (LTP) program and teaches visual sociology at Duke University's Center for Documentary Studies. She also travels nationally to teach LTP workshops for educators. Katie graduated from Miami University and then earned her PhD in sociology at North Carolina State University. She has traveled to Nepal several times, her first trip in 1992 was part of a study abroad program through Miami University.
       
    Nicholas Pace
Trustee
Nick is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for the Amerigroup Corporation in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Also a graduate of Miami University, Nick earned his JD and MBA from the University of Richmond.
       
    Dinesh Rajbhandari
Director and Co-Founder of Sam’s House Nepal
Dinesh is a citizen of Nepal and prior to his work at Sam’s House, he headed the Language & Cultural Training and Services divisions of the International Nepal Fellowship, a non-governmental aid organization. Dinesh is a graduate of Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in sociology.
       
   

Jennifer Rothchild
Trustee
Jennifer is an associate professor of sociology and gender studies at the University of Minnesota, Morris.  She first traveled to Nepal in 1992 with trustees Katie Hyde and Bradley Schonhoft as part of a Miami University study abroad program.  She and husband Chris Butler research gender, family and education in Nepal.

       
   

Bradley Schonhoft
Trustee

Brad is currently Managing Partner of Willow Run Capital Management, LLC.  Prior to 2010, Brad managed investments for Sigma Capital Management, LLC/SAC Capital Advisors of New York City.  A graduate of Miami University, The Ohio State University and Rollins College, Brad first traveled to Nepal in 1992 on a study abroad program with Miami University.  Brad will help manage Sam's House funds.

       
    Delta Schonhoft
Trustee
Delta has extensive experience in marketing and product management in the pharmaceutical industry. She has a BS in Psychology from Texas Christian University and an MBA from Rollins College. Delta has traveled throughout the world and has a deep appreciation for the culture and people of Nepal.

Pritam Man Buddhacharya

Trustee

Pritam is a local businessman with several jewelry shops in Pokhara and Katmandu.  He also owns a local FM radio station.  A graduate of Tribhuvan University, Mr. Buddhacharya is also an active member of the Pokhara Chamber of Commerce.

       
   

 

Ekdev Devkota

Chair

Ekdev manages mobile health camps for the International Nepal Fellowship.  Educated at Tribhuvan University, Ekdev has also worked in regional hospitals as a pharmacist. Currently he is a member of Pokhara's Leo Club.

       
   

Dhan Prasad Gurung

Trustee

Dhan works as a finance manager for the International Christian Fellowship in Kathmandu.  A graduate of Tribhuvan University with an MBA, Dhan also volunteers time with Kopila Nepal, a non-governmental organization that provides assistance to underprivileged children in western Nepal.

       
   

Ranjit Gurung

Trustee

Ranjit is a retired military serviceman, having served 20+ years in the British Gorkha Army.  An avid tennis player, Ranjit is still active as a competitive player and through teaching the sport to young people in schools around Pokhara.

       
   

Bharat Malla

Treasurer

Bharat owns and operates Seven Peaks Travel, a full-service agency with offices in Pokhara and Kathmandu.  He also co-founded Boomerang, a popular Pokhara restaurant.  Bharat graduated from Tribhuvan University with a degree in English.

       
   

Shova Devi Poudel

Trustee

Shova works as an attorney in Pokhara, having earned her degree at Tribhuvan University.  She and her husband founded their own private firm.  Shova also devotes many hours to pro-bono work and legal advocacy for women.

       
   

Major Chandra Bahadur Pun

Trustee

Major Pun is a retired military officer with more than 30 years served in the British Gorkha Army.  Retiring to Pokhara, the Major has dedicated his free time to charitable and educational causes in Nepal.  In addition to Sam's House, he sits on the board of the Manakamana school in Pokhara. 

       
   

Rekha Rajbhandari

Trustee and Co-Founder

Rekha works as a free-lance language and cultural instructor for expatriates working in Nepal.  She holds a master's and bachelor's degree from Tribhuvan University.  In addition to her responsibilities as chair, Rekha also has overseen the training of the Sam's House staff.

       
   

Pradip Regmi

Vice Chair

Pradip teaches teaches college and high school-level English in Rampur.  He graduated from Tribhuvan University with a master's degree in English.  Pradip also devotes spare time to working with environmental NGO's in Pokhara.
